Privacy policy

TODO before launch: confirm which analytics, ad network and newsletter provider you actually use, then delete the ones that do not apply. An inaccurate privacy policy is worse than a short one — and ad networks check this page during review.

What is collected

• Analytics. Aggregate visit data — pages viewed, referrer, approximate region, device type. No attempt is made to identify you.
• Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by the newsletter provider solely to send the newsletter. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• Advertising. Third-party ad networks may set cookies or use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Their use of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.

What is never collected

This site does not ask for and does not want your Social Security number, taxpayer identification number, bank or account numbers, income figures, or any other tax or financial detail. Do not send that information by email either.

Cookies

Cookies are used for analytics and, where ads are shown, by ad networks. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site still works without them.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. To make a request, use the contact route listed on the About page.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

This policy will be updated if the tools behind the site change. The date of the current version is shown in the site footer.
